#HappyNewYear2020

Not sure how you feel, but I'm amazed that another year has gone and a brand new decade is beginning.  It's terrifying how time flies and I'm usually not having any fun either.  So whoever the joker is that made that statement, lied!  (chuckle)

At any rate, I certainly hope you have a Very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!  Do yourselves a favor and do not make any new year's resolutions that you know damn well after a few weeks, you'll all but abandon.  It's just not worth making them when most times many of us do not keep them.  Here's a resolution you can stick with--don't make any.  (Ha!)  Who knew how simple that would be?  We've gotten our 2019 reading year out of the way and it's time to make room for 2020.  Do you have your reading lists together?  Do you have a general idea of how many books you plan to read for the year?  A good rule of thumb is to set your goal small, and if you meet it, you can always increase your books.  I find those individuals who make ridiculous reading goals usually fail because they set the bar way too high for themselves.  Do yourself another favor and abandon that idea as well.  Remember the key is to be realistic.

I'm curious as to how well many of you did with your 2019 reading goals?  Did you complete them?  I'd love to hear what you did.  Please feel free to reach out to me on The Sexy Nerd Revue's Facebook page or use the contact form listed right on the blog (scroll down and you'll see the contact form on the right hand side).  I decided that I'm cutting back on my social media participation.  I'm finding the older I get, the lack of patience I have for idiotic people and ideas.  And, I think, more importantly, what's the point?  I want like minded people to follow me, and I'd like to grow an audience organically.  I'm not buying social media's likes and/or follows.  It just seems so stupid when I think about it.  Why do we kill ourselves for follows and likes?  There are so many other things I want to do in life, and hanging around social media isn't one of them.  I've been there and done that, and it's time to move on.

However, with that said, I still plan to run the book blog.  I love to discuss books.  So, if you're an avid reader and like to try new authors, this is the place to do it.  The Sexy Nerd will never force its views on you nor beg you to do what you do not wish to do.  Those days are over!  It is our hope that you find the books and authors we host interesting enough to try them out.  You never know where you're going to find that next great read, and trust and believe, I've read many of the authors I've hosted and have been pleasantly surprised.

Moving ahead, I look forward to exciting new reads and revisiting established authors' work as well.  I'd like to sum up by thanking each and every supporter of The Sexy Nerd 'Revue' in welcoming me back into the blog-o-sphere once again!  I left the scene for over a year, but it's great to be back and you received me well.  Happy New Year, Sexy Nerds!
