#Book #Tour...Big Cranky...#Dark #Mythological #Fantasy #Action #Giveaway

Big Cranky: Fall Into Darkness
by James Pyne
Genre: Dark Mythological Fantasy, Action
Forget everything you think you know about myths and legends, James Pyne’s Big Cranky connects them all in an epic web of deceitful betrayal, love, and loyalty. A capricious tale of gods, showing human quirks are not only wasted on the mortals. A tale of many deities treading lightly around a superior as the world begins.
James Pyne hails from Nova Scotia, Canada, and has been a scribe for the Universe much of his life. He's a firm believer in being able to write in every genre, to make his world building and characters hopefuly come out genuine. No matter what he writes it will have some form of darkness, nothing is pure light in any worlds James creates and rumor has it, his surviving characters are plotting his demise. When it comes to his past time, much of it is spent learning the craft, but he does enjoy gardening and playfully tormenting those he loves. When he's not writing, or working his day job, he's traveling. The Andalusia region of Spain the last place that tolerated him.

Favorite authors: John Gardner (Grendel, Sunlight Dialogues). Fyodor Dostoevsky (The Brothers Karamazov). Clive Barker (Imajica, Weaveworld, Books of Blood). Terry Pratchett (Good Omens, Bad Omens). J.R.R. Tolkien (Lord of the Rings). And all the scribes who carried on the tradition of myths throughout the ages.

The Sexy Nerd's #Review Featuring...Burning Justice...#Legal #Thriller #Action #Vigilante

Former defense attorney Darren Street is desperately trying to put his life back together after spending two years in a maximum-security prison for a murder he didn’t commit. He’s rebuilding his law practice, reconnecting with his son, and falling more deeply in love with his girlfriend, fellow attorney Grace Alexander. But the past casts a long shadow, and for Street, there’s no outrunning it.

Tormented by nightmares and violent mood swings, Street is seeking treatment for PTSD when a new trauma shakes his world: his mother is killed in an explosion, but the police believe Street was the intended target. Payback from an old enemy, or the calling card of a deadly new foe? Whoever’s behind it, Street begins to lose his grip on reality and decides to take matters in his own hands. And the law won’t stop him from revenge. Justice has a new name: Darren Street.

The Sexy Nerd ‘Revue’
My favorite attorney turned vigilante is back and better than ever in the second installment of the Darren Street series. Well, that’s not totally true. He’s not better than ever. Darren has a few hiccups trying to piece back his life and move on from being wrongfully incarcerated by a blind justice and an even more corrupt Lady Justice, if you will.

But despite all Street’s woes, he’s maturing and trying to keep it pushing, so much so, that he proposes to his girlfriend, Grace Alexander, who helped him with his defense in getting out of prison and clearing his name. Even though Street is trying to deal with his past demons, nightmares and images lurking behind his mind’s eye, an old enemy has decided to rear its ugly head and thrust himself back into Street’s life. However, having said that, Darren wasn’t aware that his so-called enemy existed, until an extreme tragedy took place.

Someone decided to kill Darren Street but the joke was on them because Darren was safe and sound with Grace and enjoying their engagement when Darren gets a call that changed the course of his life from this point on. His mother’s house had been blown to smithereens. His mother, whom was once a whole person, mind, body and spirit, was scattered to bits all throughout the house. There wasn’t anything left of this house, but an empty spot where a house used to be.

Street was devastated and from the tragedy a new person was born. What the prison didn’t take from Darren, the death is his mother destroyed the rest of Street’s being. At this point, nothing mattered to him, not even his son and his girlfriend. The only thing on Darren’s mind was who did it and where could he find them. There wasn’t any way he was going to allow the person or people involved to continue to draw breath another day.

Thanks to an error of the police department, Darren was able to find out who the “person of interests” were, and that’s where this story takes off like a rocket. Gaaaat damn, Pratt wrote the hell out of this book. I absolutely love Scott Pratt’s work. He is one of my favorite legal writers. Darren Street is a character that you root for no matter what, and even though he makes decisions and does things that I know isn’t right, you can’t help wanting him to win. I love Darren Street’s character. I see so much of myself in him. Pratt really expanded on the lengths and strengths of Street’s character and puts you in the driver seat. If you aren’t feeling what Darren is going through, you do not have a pulse. To watch this kind-hearted attorney, go from loving life and trying to do what’s best for himself, family and his clients, and to see how hardened he became after being incarcerated and railroaded by an attorney general who had it out for him is just incredible. The transitions that he goes through are absolutely amazing and what makes it so is that Pratt outlines the transformation right before your very eyes.

Man, oh Man I love when an author makes you feel his/her characters. I made an error in reading the series out of order, but it doesn’t matter because each of the books can be read as a standalone. What a damn good book. Wowwwww, Pratt outdid himself once again. I love reading his work. His legal thrillers take you on an emotional roller coaster ride that I don’t ever want to get off. Well done!

The Sexy Nerd gives Burning Justice five more additional flames. Wowwww, this book was so damn good! I want to see all Pratt’s legal novels into movies. I believe they would translate well onto the silver screen. Here’s hoping! Until next time, nerds, open a book and get mind blown!

Jim Edwards always thought he'd join the military when he graduated from high school. But then he snuck off and married his high school sweetheart the middle of their senior year and his wife Linda got pregnant right away. Jim did not want to leave his new family and get deployed halfway around the world, but he still wanted to serve his country. That’s when he decided to go into law enforcement. He talked to his dad about it and he reached out to and old friend for his son. Sheriff George Manning of Sheridan County Wyoming told him that if Jim went to Junior College and got an associate’s degree in criminal justice he would give him a chance in his department. Jim worked nights and weekends for two years at a local restaurant to support his young family and also got his degree at Sheridan Community College. Jim was also a damn good heavy weight amateur boxer in Wyoming and even tied the State Champ in a local match before joining the department.

Jim rescued Sheriff Manning and a couple of civilians from a bunch of bikers that had them cornered on a mountain road just before he joined the Department. Later when one of them threatened his wife and child in retaliation Jim's temper got the best of him and he throws the biker a beating he won’t ever forget. That starts a series of events that pits Deputy Jim Edwards against the notorious Wild Wolves’ Biker Gang and its two leaders. Now Jim has a big problem and even though Sheriff Manning and his top Lt. Al Freeburger think that Jim is the best Deputy they've ever had they don't know if Jim can survive the Wolves vendetta against him. Jim finds himself pitted against not only a notorious biker gang but South American cartels, and corrupt politicians. Jim is smart and good, but he is also young and inexperienced. When it comes to his family’s safety he won’t compromise and he won’t back down. His enemies know this and will try to use this against him. They are going to lure the young Lawman into a death trap and all Jim has is his grit and his wits to see him through.

But this all happened back in 1974, and Jim Edwards is alive and well. He has just recently returned from helping rescue his son, Commander Jacob Edwards from Maximillian’s prison down in Central America. Captain Tommy Williams the leader of the rescue has known for a long time that there is something very interesting about Jims past service in the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Department. So he uses and opportunity to visit that town with the Edwards family to go there and find out for himself why some "old law dogs" around Sheridan still call it "The Legend of Deputy Jim".

As she turns her attention to Mexico's most powerful Santiago cartel, a rising power in the secret society orders her death. As the remaining cartels unite to take her down, will she be able to trust her relationship with the son of one of the South American rival crime bosses? Will he help her, as promised, or betray her? If they fail, it could bring about the end of human civilization.

Ben was born in England, but currently lives in Germany.

He loves to laugh and make others laugh, something which he is particularly good at. He is a joker, a hoaxer and someone who loves mysteries, especially if they involve a long lost treasure.

Apart from writing he likes nothing better than to be travelling in his motorhome around Europe seeking out mysteries and hunting for long lost treasures, which invariably lead him below ground to explore caves, caverns and old mines. These then become ideas he can use in his books.

Currently based in Germany, if he is writing a book with a location in Europe, he will often drive to the area to get a feel of the place, the smells and the sounds of the streets, the people and the landscape, and will write down descriptions for later use.

Ben’s research into the mysteries he has sought to solve is so thorough he often discovers snippets of information no one else has. His research has been used in many documentaries and his hoaxed discoveries detailed in his Lost Tomb of the Knights Templar book were featured in a Hollywood movie.

Tasmanian Special Forces Group:
Welcome to Hell
by C.R. Daems
Genre: SciFi Military Action
Jolie was three when she found she was ugly and deformed.

She was five when she found she was a sub-human and an outcast.

She was seven when five boys and two girls dragged her out of the orphanage and beat her unconscious, leaving her lying bleeding and broken in the street.

She was content to lie there and die, tired of being hated and abused. But a frail old man with wispy white hair and a long beard wasn't content to let her die. He not only saved her, but he adopted her and passed on his unique martial art to her.

She was twenty when she headed to Delphi, the center of the United Systems of Perileos (USP) and the planet of her birth-father to find her place in his society.

Based on her unique upbringing, she decides to join the USP military, requesting to be assigned to the Tasmanians SFG, an elite all male unit. The military brass is reluctant to deny her request and admit their enlistment contract permits bait-and-switch assignments. Instead, they agree to let her enter the school, thinking she couldn't possibly succeed–a Chihuahua competing against Rottweilers–and plan to make an example of her when she fails.

Although Jolie is small, she is not what she appears. But can her adopted father's art enable her to survive the treachery of the military brass, the grueling of the school, the prejudices of the instructors, and the testosterone of an all-male class?

And if she succeeds, can she thrive in the high-octane and all male environment of the Tasmanians?
