He thinks his secret is safe. But she knows the truth…
My husband is a doctor. He’s smart and charming and everybody trusts him. Except me.
On the surface, it looks like I have it all – the perfect marriage, the perfect husband, the perfect life. But it’s far from the truth.
Doctor Drew Devlin is not the respectable figure he makes out to be. The reason we moved to this beautiful, old property with a gorgeous view of the sea was because we needed to put our past behind us. It should’ve been a fresh start for us both.
Except I’ve discovered my husband has been lying to me again. He’s using the power he has in his job to mess with people’s lives, and to get exactly what he wants – no matter who it hurts.
But he’s underestimated me. I’ve had plenty of time, in this big, isolated house, to think about all of his mistakes.
And my husband has no idea what’s about to happen next…
The Sexy Nerd's Review. . .
Mrs. Fern Devlin had it all. Being married to a prominent, trusted doctor in their community was the cherry on top. Fern liked being “Mrs. Devlin.” What was there not to love? She didn’t have to work. Her time was her own and she could spend money until her heart’s content. Life was damn good for Mrs. Devlin. Or so she thought.
There’s something to be said about two individuals who join as one. One partnership based on unity and more so trust. Dr. Drew Devlin was a trusted doctor by many of his patients. They believed his very word when he shelved out diagnoses and prognoses as his job demanded. But, when it came to trust within his marriage to Fern, that’s where he fell way short. What Dr. Devlin proved is that even being a doctor, he was first, human. We as humans make mistakes, yes? He couldn’t help that he slipped and fell into Alice’s sex-capades, and worse, in love with her. Did he mean to go outside his marriage? What in the world was he possibly thinking, right?
Exactly! That’s what Fern wanted to know. How on earth could her husband shatter her very fairytale by pretending to be in love with her and yet his mind and soul was with his mistress, Alice? Unfortunately, for Dr. Devlin, he truly should have paid more attention to his wife because as much as he thought he was playing her—voila, Fern knew all about his extra-marital affair. But how? You’ll have to read to find out.
This was a very interesting read. When I began the story, it came off as a little slow for me, but when Fern started heating up and advising the readers of her actual knowledge of things, the story got real and fast. I couldn’t get enough. Funny thing though, I figured it out well before the ending, but it didn’t matter because I wanted to know Fern’s plans and where she planned to take things. Talk about hell hath no fury like a woman scorned? Hell, scorned would have been meek and mild compared to what Mrs. Devlin was up to. Sheesh, that woman was a real trip. I loved it!
The Sexy Nerd gives The Doctor’s Wife, four extra mistresses for the good doctor to mess around with. Overall, this story was pretty good. It held my interest and had a bit of crazy going on too. Who doesn’t like a good, sweet revenge type story. Oooh, this one is that! And we’ve come to yet another year-end conclusion of reading. The Sexy Nerd has reached her reading goals for 2023. Woo Hoo! How about you? Did you read all the books you set out back in January? Welp, if you haven’t finished, you’ve still got a few days left to 2023 to get ‘er done. Until next time and next year, you know how we do, Nerds! Wishing you and yours Happy Holidays and Happy New Year. I look forward to reading with you in 2024.
See ya next year!
